Success for your business begins at home, with folks who know the Happy Rock of Gladstone. The threshermen of Austin. The shores of Delta Beach. The culture of Central Plains.

Success for your business begins at home, with folks who know branding, design, and strategy.
From Island Park to Southport. High Bluff to the Hoop ‘n’ Holler. Success for your business begins with Golden West and Homefield in Portage.

Situated on the Trans-Canada Highway between Winnipeg and Brandon, Portage la Prairie experienced a boom in the 1870s. Its French name means to carry a canoe over the prairie, because of the portage from the Assiniboine River to Lake Manitoba (but you already knew that, didn’t you?). Today, Portage la Prairie is alive with a thriving economy, recreation, and culture.

If you’re in or around Portage singing along to the radio, you’re probably listening to the best songs, best variety on Mix 96.5 FM. Or maybe CFRY – a station so appreciated by listeners, it’s broadcast on both 920 AM and 93.1 FM. CFRY is Manitoba’s longest-running radio station, broadcasting classic country music alongside comprehensive local coverage of ag news. And when the people of Central Plains want a LOCAL choice for today’s top country music all day every day, they turn  to Country 93.1 FM.

While all these stations are on the radio dial, they’re also streaming online at PortageOnline.com, Portage la Prairie’s only source for relevant, local, up-to-date news, weather, sports, and information.

Just like Portage Online, CFRY, Country 93, and Mix 96, Homefield Marketing and Homefield People + Strategy are part of Golden West, sharing a space at 2390 Sissons Drive in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Giving the people of Central Plains local, in-person access to strategists who know how to get your message out there, and get your people rowing in the same direction.

Whether we’re sitting next to you at fundraisers or hockey games (Go Islanders!), chatting with you on or over the radio, or meeting with you to see how we can help you propel your business forward – we ARE Golden West and Homefield, and we love meeting you in and around the community!

And we LOVE our community! Remember Brake for Breakfast? Eleven local partners joined forces as the community contributed over 2000 boxes of cereal and nearly $6000 to this school breakfast program! Because we’re all about everything that makes Portage a terrific place to live, work, and play.
